Born and raised in England, I came to Holland MI in 2005, to work at Hope College in the Chemistry Department with a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry. I met my husband Barry at the bowling alley here in Holland. We have two very clever and beautiful daughters, Zoe and Ivy. I am still a chemistry lover, however I resigned from my faculty position at GVSU to stay home with my children. When I came to Love Sews in 2016, though I had sewn for a few years, I had never completed a quilt! I love that we are all a family to each other AND we work together to help those in need. My Zoe is a quilt recipient and she loves her "hug from Jesus"...I do too!
I was born and raised in Holland MI and have been married for 44 years to my husband Rog. We have 2 married children and 4 beautiful grandchildren that I am blessed to help care for. I was introduced to Love Sews from the beginning and have loved every moment of it. It gives me just as great a feeling making the quilt as giving it to someone to comfort them and let them know it was made with love, prayers and a hug from Jesus.

Love Sews Ministry officially celebrated our 4th anniversary with our first community event! There were over 300 people that visited with us and welcomed us to the neighborhood! See the live FaceBook video on our FaceBook page.
Love Sews Ministry moved into our new location in Riley Square! We officially opened in our own new space in April of 2017. Board members prepared the space by moving all of the equipment and materials before letting on to our volunteers. When they came to the church (where we used to meet) for our usual Tuesday evening meeting time prepared to celebrate our 4th anniversary, they got a big surprise!
Having our own space allows us to meet more than once a week and to NOT have to bring out and then pack up all of our material and equipment anymore!
